High School Computer Applications

In fall semester we learn about the basics of computer use, computer and internet security, the use of standard applications, different operating systems, network applications, and the creation of web pages.

In spring semester we learn the basics of computer programming using the Java programming language and graphical editing tools to create images for our programs. We will be using skills from the fall semester to maintain web pages about the programs we develop.

We got advanced enough that each class member created their own web site of 6 or more pages organized by subject material with full navigation controls. These sites have not been posted publicly, however.

2009-2010 Class project pages:

Bubbles development blog.  Play Game Online
Bubbles is a platformer game that includes barriers, hazards, and a "skyhook" rope for the character (a ninja) to use to negotiate each level.
Qake development blog.  Play Game Online
Qake is a side-view action shooter, where the player controls a baker trying to defend his goods from marauding cookie-stealing zombies.
